Thick 100% Organic European Hemp Canvas.

The heavyweight 17 oz. hemp canvas is suitable for many types of bags, as well as furniture upholstery. Sold by the yard; fabric width is ~58"-60". Shrinkage of about 3-5% in the length.

Fabric: 100% organically grown European hemp canvas (17 oz.)

Color: Dye-free, unbleached natural color of hemp fiber

Origin: Grown in Europe. Woven at the Rawganique Atelier in Europe.

The Spruce Heavyweight Hemp Canvas is offered in natural (undyed, unbleached). From 100% organically grown European hemp. Sweatshop-free. All production 2022 and after are completely untreated. Older stock may have a foodgrade waterproofing applied to make it somewhat water repellent, since this fabric is mostly used for footwear & bags.

Made in-house: we grow and weave this versatile heavy hemp canvas for true purity and environmental sustainability. Made in Europe.

Please note that we use hydrogen peroxide and low-impact biodegradable fiber-reactive dyes (with no mordants) so color variations may occur from batch to batch. Natural color is unbleached & undyed, so variations may occur there as well — rainy harvest seasons result in darker fabrics; sunnier harvests result in a lighter color.
