Blue Stripe At Concorde

Blue Stripe At Concorde is one of a series of artworks that comprise Sofia Lind's Paris Metro Collection - artworks inspired by her time living in the bustling French capital and more specifically the vibrant colours and rich atmospheres of Paris's various metro stations that like most Parisiennes, Sofia commuted through daily.

Blue Stripe At Concorde draws on many of Sofia's trademark motifs in her depiction of a stoic female subject in a contemplative pose possessing an oversized body adorned with vibrant striped clothing which engulfs our frame of view. In this work Sofia utilises a soft muted colour palette complemented by lively blue patterned stripes in a way that’s fresh and expressive to create a truly delightful artwork that captivates and enthrals. Blue Stripe At Concorde evokes a feeling of peaceful contemplation and is perfectly suited as a feature artwork for the bedroom, hallway or living room.

"I have worked with pattern and pattern design for a long time. The mathematical and repetitious process in pattern making suits me well and I often try to integrate patterns in my work. When I create prints, I try to make the difference between the original painting and the print as minimal as possible - I want the strokes from the brush to be visible."

Sofia Lind is a designer and artist from Gothenburg, Sweden. After studying Design BA at HDK, the Academy of Design and Crafts, she moved to Stockholm, where she is now based. In her work Sofia plays with muted colours, lively patterns and stoic female subjects in a way that’s fresh and captivating.
